At the present time, our society does not have a research librarian or other available volunteers to handle general research requests.

Because of our close association with and support of the Harvey County Historical Museum & Archives,

we direct you to use the services of their archivist.

If you are a member in good standing of either the Harvey County Genealogical Society or the Harvey County Historical Society, the archivist will handle your research request for the discounted fee of $10.00 for the first hour and $5.00 for each additional hour, plus copying charges.  Please email research at hcgsks.org and put "Research Request" in the subject line - this will go directly to the Historical Archives.

Volunteers from within our county who care about our local cemeteries are currently involved

in an extensive project to photograph, transcribe, index, and make available online

every single headstone and burial site in Harvey County.

While our indexes are currently incomplete, we are nearing completion at this time.  We will gladly check for you at no charge.

It is also our policy to provide headstone photos at no charge, as many of our members are also members of Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - a group we heartily support.  However, in return we ask two things:  first, please be patient as we have few volunteers and many requests; and second, we would ask for any biographical information on your Harvey County ancestor as you would be comfortable sharing, in order that we may link it to the individual's family file in Harvey County.

We are making every attempt within the county to double-check the accuracy of every entry we post, cross-verify with city, county, and sexton's records, and to link these cemetery records to the individual burial information, headstone photo, obituary, and family links.  This is a tremendous and consuming project, and your support is both encouraged and welcomed.
