Otto Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott, farmers of rural route 5, Newton, south of the city, passed away at Grace hospital in Hutchinson Friday evening about 6:00 o’clock (August 19, 1927), as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident Tuesday afternoon, about 15 miles southeast of Hutchinson, as he and a companion were driving to Wichita. The car, a Ford roadster, turned over a couple of times when a radius rod broke. Otto was seriously injured internally. He will be brought to Newton and funeral services will be conducted at the Nazarene Church Monday forenoon at 10:00 o’clock, by the Pastor, Rev. William Lambert, assisted by Rev. A. L. Hipple of Hutchinson, formerly Pastor of the Newton Church. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. The death of this young man has cast a gloom over the home community, and among all friends of the family, and the sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved ones. Otto may be seen at the Duff & Son Funeral parlor Sunday afternoon from three to five o’clock. (The Newton Kansan, Newton KS. Saturday August 20, 1927. Page 2).
