Ione Lee McMannis

Ione L. McMannis, 99, homemaker, died Saturday (April 26, 2003) at Buhler Sunshine Home.

She was born Jan. 9, 1904, to Revis L. and Dona (Clark) Nabors in Bartlesville, Indian Territory (Oklahoma). They preceded her in death. She married Jefferson LaVier McMannis July 18, 1926, in Claremore, Okla. He preceded her in death May 10, 1987.

She was a member of Halstead Baptist Church of Halstead, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter Five of Newton.

Survivors include: three sons, LaVier McMannis of Hutchinson, Charles McMannis of Canton and Donald McMannis of Burrton; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by: a daughter, Dona Marlene Roberts; a brother, Sam Nabors; three sisters, Fearol Williams, Cecil Rodgers and Ruth Davis; and a great-grandson, Kyle McMannis.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Halstead Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Ericksten officiating.

Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery.
