Obituary

Lewis Gordon McMannis, 78, of Hutchinson died of cancer on Saturday (June 13, 1998) at Hutchinson Hospital. He was formerly of Ottawa and Burrton.

He was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Collinsville, Okla., to Henry Jefferson and Louella Mae (Martin) McMannis. He was a retired receiving clerk for Phoenix Corp. He was a member of the Halstead Baptist Church. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jefferson L. McMannis and Eli E. McMannis; and four sisters, Thelma V. Adkins, Millie L. Anderson, Adria Ann McMannis and Maudie Elizabethe McMannis.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Halstead Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Ericksten officiating. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Ottawa with his great-nephew, Rev. Darren McMannis, officiating.
