Peter D Krehbiel

Peter D. Krehbiel, 97, died on Wednesday (June 9, 2010) at Memorial Home in Moundridge. He was born on Dec. 8, 1912, in McPherson County to Peter S. and Anna Goering Krehbiel.

He was a farmer and a Hesston school district maintenance employee.

He married Martha H. Schrag on Aug. 3, 1937. She died on Oct. 28, 1974. He married Frieda Wiens Epp on April 10, 1976. She died on May 6, 1997. Survivors include a son, Randall (Janeal) Krehbiel of Lawrence; daughters, Jeanette (Daniel) Wedel and Annie (Rich) Sieber, all of Hesston; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a stepson, Tony (Diane) Epp of North Newton; stepdaughters, Becky (Larry) Bartel and Janet (Richard) van Dyke, all of Lenexa; eight step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; a brother, John Krehbiel of Pretty Prairie; and a sister, Lydia Mathew of Hutchinson.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas or Memorial Home, both in care of Moundridge Funeral Home.
