Geraldine Valeria Clarke

Geraldine Valeria Clarke, died Tuesday, December 16, 1997, at Saxtrons Residential Care Center in St. Joseph, at the age of 83 years and 10 days. Geraldine was born December 6, 1914, in Burrton, Kansas, the daughter of Everett E. and Hazel Obley. From age six she lived in Wichita, Kanas, where she graduated from North High School and attended a business college for two years. On September 21, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas, she married James Clarke. She was employed by the Boeing Aircraft Company from 1950 until early retirement in 1963. Geraldine and James were married for over 50 years and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1987. Geraldine is survived by a son, Jerry L. Rowland and wife, Mary, Lake San Marcos, California; two daughters, Kay Sparks and husband, Jerry, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Bobbie Courtney and husband, Ross, Dearborn; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Obley. Graveside services were held Saturday, December 20, at Drakes Chapel Cemetery in Henry County.
