Prouty, Frank

The Newton Kansan

Kansan, October 29, 1921

Little Frank Prouty, the two and half year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Prouty, was summoned to his Heavenly home this morning about 10:30 o'clock, leaving his parents, brother, George, and sisters, Ethel, Vivian and Marian in great sorrow. The death of the little lad who was the baby of the family is most pathetic, and hosts of friends feel in common this sorrow.

His death were occasioned from injuries received on Sunday evening about 6:30. The family home is in Macon township. The parents and children had gone to the barn yard to perform the chores. The older children were at some tasks and Frank was playing in a feed trough it is thought that he must have left his play and started across the yard, but none of the family witnessed the accident and the shock was a terrible one when they noticed, baby Frank on the ground. Judging from the imprint on his head, it was conceded, that he must have been kicked on the head by a mule. His skull was fractured, the injury being very severe one. He was taken to Bethel hospital immediately and every effort has been made to save the little one but a Divine Providence had decreed other wise and this morning the life of the little lad who had brought so much sunshine into the home, terminated.

The body will be taken from Sprinker's chapel to the home of the baby's grandmother, Mrs. George Hupp, three miles west of Newton on Saturday morning and the funeral will be held there Sunday afternoon at three o'clock.
