Prouty, Atchinson



Nov. 22, 1958. Funeral services for Atchison Trask Prouty, 73, of Route 1, Halstead, who died Friday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Draper's Funeral Home. The Rev. George Harvey, pastor of the Church of the Brethern, will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home prior to the services. Born Jan. 25, 1885 in Macon Township, Mr. Prouty farmed near Hesston and had spent most of his life in Harvey County. His parents were William H. and Calista Prouty. He was married at Newton Oct. 26,1954 Edna K. Smith.[1926-2006] Mr. Prouty was a member Newton Masonic Lodge No. 142 A.F. and A.M. His first wife Ethel, died in 1923. In addition to the widow, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Edna Brink of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Bly Rose of Scott City; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elsie Mae Prouty of Los Angeles; four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several cousins.
