McPHERSON — Martha M. Terry, 82, died Monday (Feb. 6, 2006) at her residence in McPherson.
She was born May 24, 1923, to George and Josephine (Spas) Klabau in Newton. They preceded her in death. She married Walter W. Terry July 22, 1942, in Newton. He preceded her in death Aug. 10, 1977, at the age of 54.

She was a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was a 1941 graduate of Newton High School and served on the Newton High School Class Involvement Committee.

She was a farmer's wife and worked in the offices of Minnis Insurance and the Selective Service Board. She was a health care worker for Bethel Deaconess Hospital. She retired from Bethel after 24 years of service. After retirement, she spent time doing home health care.

Survivors include: a son, Richard Terry and wife Margaret of Prescott, Ariz.; daughters, Nancy Maher and husband Dan of North Newton and Susan Melton and husband Clyde of McPherson; five nephews; and six nieces.

She also was preceded in death by: sisters, Verna Gilchrist and Mary Potts; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Klabau.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Putnam of Hospice Care of Kansas in McPherson officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas — McPherson Chapter in care of the funeral home.
