Obituary

Mrs. Esther Perkins was born July 23rd in 1889 in Newton, Kansas. She was the daughter of W.K. and Ida Mae Smith. She lived in Newton all her life and was employed in the KG&E office and for the Hoag Music Store. Mrs. Perkins was a member of the Salem Methodist Church. She married Carl W. Perkins and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1965. She left behind her husband and one son William S. of Wichita, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Services were held at Petersen Funeral Home with burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
