Fred Foster Benedict

Father Fred J. Benedict died a few months after his his sons birth. At the age of fourteen he and his mother and step-father moved to Newton. He finished his education in the Newton schools and at Bethel college. In June 1912 he married Helen Ruth Eatinger, three children, Jean and Diane, one son Robert Foster died in infancy.

He worked for the Santa Fe railroad as a boiler maker, and later owned and operated the Wardrobe Cleaners in Newton. He was a member of Masonic lodge, the Eastern Star.
