Tuttle, Angeline



March 27,1920 The body of Mrs. Gilford Tuttle arrived in Newton today on No. 6 from Great Bend, Kans. She passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Laura Whitney, Friday at 6 o'clock. The deceased would have been 98 years old had she lived until Saturday, April 3. Mrs. Tuttle was one of the early pioneers of Harvey county, having come with her husband, and homesteaded near where the Stone school house is now located. Mr. Tuttle was a Civil War veteran and passed away eighteen years ago this month and is buried in the Greenwood cemetery. The members of the family who survive are; Mrs. Flora Hackney of Fay, Okla., Mrs. Hattie Oldfield of McPherson, Mrs. Laura Whitney of Great Bend, and Mrs. C. L. Perkins, wife of the county commissioner, who is a granddaughter and is the only one of the family living in Harvey county. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 at Sprinker's chapel with Rev. J. E. Henshaw officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood cemetery.
