Signa Maxine Walton

Signa Maxine Walton, 93, died Tuesday (Sept. 5, 2006) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.


She was born March 2, 1913, in Kansas City to Marcia and William Brandt. She married Kenneth T. Walton Oct. 4, 1931, in Halstead. He died Nov. 13, 2006.

She was a member of the Treble Clef Club and Twentieth Century Social Club, both of Newton.

She had a strong love for music and played the piano from memory most often. She also had enjoyed the outdoors and camping.

Survivors include: a son, Robert E. Walton of Hesston; daughters, Susan (Walton) Slater and Bron (Walton) Green, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandsons, Robert J. Walton, Ryan D. Walton, Dyllon Green and Collin Green; and great-granddaughters Nichole Walton and Mandy Walton.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Newton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Newton with the Rev. Bill Hickerson officiating.

Memorials have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
