Gaede, Henry Herman

Kansan, Monday, May 27, 1957

Henry Herman Gaede, 49 year old Newton laborer, surrendered life's burden on a lonely road about five miles southeast of Peabody early Sunday night.

A farmer saw a car drive by slowly, then heard a pistol shot. Investigating, he found Gaede in front of the car, a .32 automatic clutched in one hand. Rushed to Bethel Deaconess Hospital, he breathed his last at 9:41 p.m. The bullet had pierced his brain.

according to friends, he had been forlorn since the death of his wife here a year ago. He had been unemployed for several weeks, it was said. The residence is at 211 W. 11th St.

Seven sons and five daughters survive him.

Born at Hillsboro on Sept. 27, 1907, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Gaede, and most of his life was spent at Hillsboro and Newton. For a time he was employed by the Rhoades Construction Co. His marriage took place here on July 1, 1933.

Funeral services will be held in Draper's Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, The Rev. H. C. Thomas, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery
