History

Colonel Gregory Hoisington, US Army, taught at Westpoint and was a former commander of the garrision at Chilkoot Barracks. He, was a graduate of West Point and a Colonel in the U.S. Army. He was a direct descendant of Ebenezer Hoisington, a founder of the state of Vermont, who served during the American Revolution.

He was the father of two generals: Perry Hoisington II and Elizabeth P. Hoisington, both also buried in Arlington National Cemetery. A third child, Gregory Hoisington Jr, who was a first lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps is also buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
