Noland, Fred Thomas

The Newton Kansan

Kansan, Saturday, March 1, 1930

Friends and neighbors of Fred Noland learned with deep regret of his death which occurred this morning at his farm home six miles east of Newton. He had been in poor health for sometime and only a few days ago his good neighbors and friends gathered at his home and put in his oats crop for him. They were doing all that they could to assist Mr. Noland in caring for him and this morning felt somewhat encouraged as he had regained consciousness and had taken some nourishment, when death came without warning.

His physician had been treating him for months for high blood pressure resultant of kidney trouble and give the cause of his death as a "stroke".

He leaves a wife and two little daughters in the home here and an aged father and mother at his home in Missouri besides other relatives.

For many years he has been employed on the John Mack farm east of Newton for a long time being a partnership with Mr. mack and of late years his tenant. He was a faithfulness and loyalty personal filed. A truer man never lived. His especial delight was in animal husbandry and in his work on the stock farm no effort was to great if it would help to save a dumb animal.

He was devoted to his little daughters and very proud of the his eldest, Elizabeth who is a bright pupil in school. Little Geneva has been her father's constant pal. Mrs. Noland has the sincere sympathy of her friends in her great sorrow and their admiration as she has borne the months of sickness so bravely.
