Gus Adolph Berger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Berger, was born at Halstead, Kansas, June 25, 1890 and departed this life at the age of 54 years, ten months and 26 days. Most of his life spent in Harvey county except few years in Illinois with his parents. November 10, 1915 he united in marriage to Edna Mae Nebergall. To this union one child was born, Mary Elizabeth, now Mrs. Bob Gilmour of Houston, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Berger farmed the Mrs. Lehman farm three miles west of Hesston for 27 years. In 1939 they purchased the Nebergall farm one mile north of Zimmerdale and move there in 1943, at which place they resided at the time of his death. Beside his wife, who now is a patient at the Bethel Deaconess hospital, and his daughter, he leaves four brothers and three sisters, Andrew H., Irvin E. and Mrs. George Applegate, of Wellington, Mrs. Elmer Altman and Reinhold Berger of Newton, Mrs. Owen Jenkins of Moundridge and Harold H. of Carni, Ill., and a host of other relatives and friends.
