Morgan, Ida Jane

Mrs. Ida Jane Morgan, 89, pioneer Newton resident, died early today at her home, 1001 E. 9th St. She had been in failing health for sometime.

Born March 3,1869 in Indiana, Mrs. Morgan came to Kansas in 1878 and had lived in Newton since 1891. Her parents were Henry and Sarah Collins.

Her husband, Jesse Cornelius Morgan, preceded her in death. They were married Feb. 17, 1891 in Eureka.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. H. Von der Heiden of Newton; a son Jesse C. Morgan Jr., of Burns; two brothers, Joseph F. Collins of Riverside, Calif., and Milton A. Collins of Cushing, Okla.; three grandchildren, Clifford A. and Richard C. Morgan and Mrs John (Helen) Hobbs of Newton.
