John McNeal (Mack) Nebergall, 64, Newton, cafe owner, died suddenly early Sunday evening following a heart attack.

Mr. Nebergall was stricken at his home, 715 W. 7th, and died within an hour after being admitted to Bethel Deaconess Hospital.

He owned Mack's Cafe at 111 E. 7th, but relinquished active management of the business sometime ago because of heart conditions.

A resident of the community most of his life, Mr. Nebergall was born in rural Newton June 19, 1896. His parents were James B. and Mary Nebergall.

Mr. Nebergall was married here April 5, 1915 to Edith Grace.

He was a member of the 1st Methodist Church and Newton Elks Lodge.

In addition to his widow, survivors include three sons, Russell of Hesston, James Boyd of Great Bend and Preston Earl of Newton, two daughters, Mrs Hildred Denney of Guymon, Okla., and Mrs W. P. (Peggy) Hamm of Geneseo; one brother Lloyd of Newton; a sister, Mrs. Lina Wedemeyer of Newton.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the 1st Methodist Church. The Rev. Wayne Karlowski will officiate and burial will be in the Hesston Cemetery.
