Andrew Fluke, 50 years and 27 days old, passed away at the home in Darlington township, five miles south and two miles east of Newton at 1:00 o'clock this morning. Mr. Fluke suffered a stroke about five years ago, and the second stroke was sustained Saturday evening while he was at work about his barn. Every possible attention was given him, but he gradually sank into his last sleep. Mr. Fluke was a native of Harvey county, being born near Halstead and he resided in the county all his life. He was a steady, reliable farmer, a good neighbor and staunch friend.
He is survived by his widow, who was formerly Miss Gertrude walton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Walton. There are no children surviving, but there are five brothers and five sisters, John, Fred, Adam, August and Will, Mrs. Will Walton, Mrs. E. K. Gardner, all of this county, Mrs. B. L. Robinson, Dodge City, Mrs. John Seaman, Sedgwick and Mrs. A. C. Gates of this city.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock by the Rev. A. R. Hardy of Newton and interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The Sprinker Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
