Newton Kansan, Wednesday, January 23, 1963

William James Walton, 86, lifelong Harvey County resident, died Tuesday afternoon at his farm home on Route 5, southeast of Newton.

Mr. Walton was born Aug. 4, 1876 in rural Newton, the son of James A. and Mary Walton.

He was married Oct. 6, 1901 to Annie Fluke. His wife died in 1960.

Mr. Walton was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Leo J. of Newton and Harold D. of Yates Center; one sister, Gertrude Fluke of Newton: nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the 1st Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Floyd Kaiser will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
