Bertha Louisa Rickman

Bertha Rickman, the 15 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Rickman residing a mile west and one half mile south of town died last Sunday morning of pneumonia.

The deceased was stricken with this severe trouble only a short time, and although everything was done to save her life all efforts failed and she finally passed away.

Bertha was a very bright girl and had she lived would have graduated in the schools here this year. Her school room was dismissed that her classmates might attend the funeral. She was the idol of her parents because of her many virtues at home and they are indeed hard to console.

The funeral was very largely attended and was held at the M.E. Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Harkness. Interment was made at Hoss Cemetery.
