March 3, 1922 Newton Kansan. Silas Frame passed away Thursday afternoon at Axtell hospital were he had been a patient for two weeks. Mr. Frame was a well respected colored citizen of this vicinity. He was for a long time a resident of Pleasant township, but later moved to this city. He was associated at one time in the dairy business in the northeast section of Newton. Recently he had his home with his daughter, Mrs. Luther Simms, 627 East Eleventh. Mr. Frame is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Simms and Mrs. C. J. Paige of this city, three sons, Lee Frame of Wichita, John and Jefferson Frame of Los Angeles, and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Mannon of Newton. He was preceded in death by his wife Tennessee in 1915. Burial will take place in the Newton cemetery.
