Morse, Frank
Frank Edward Morse, 80, passed away on Sept. 3, 2010, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born on July 29, 1930, in Gove, the youngest of five boys born to the late Jesse and Anna (Gronewald) Morse. Frank graduated from Gove High School in the class of 1949 and entered the U.S. Navy where he served during the Korean Conflict. On July 30, 1964, Frank was united in marriage to Louetta DuBois in Whitewater.
Frank worked in the Soil Conservation Service for several years measuring terraces. Frank eventually started his own business building the terraces he once measured. When the opportunity presented itself, Frank and Louetta moved to Sedgwick to start farming and ranching on their own. They remained there until his passing. Frank’s hobbies included gardening, fishing and woodworking. It didn’t matter if Frank was working or enjoying one of his hobbies; the craftsmanship and pride showed through in all his work. Frank took great pride in being a good farmer, rancher and family man.
Survivors include his wife, Louetta of the home; son, Jed Morse and wife Michelle of Leon; daughter, Janelle Brockway and husband Mike of Jenks, Okla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his four brothers, Herman, Eldon (Mose), Junior (Pat) and Calvin Morse.
Graveside services for Frank were on Sept. 7 at the Gove City Cemetery; Pastor Paul Woodall officiated.
