Fagan, Joseph J
Son of James Jacobus and Catherine (Kerins) Fagan. He married Helen M. Seinbacher, April 21, 1920 in Wichita, Kansas. They had a adopted daughter Beverly and one son Dale Fagan that died in World War II.
Obituary, dated Sat. Oct. 9, 1965
Joseph J. Fagan 71 of 912 N. Plum, died at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He was the son of James J. and Kathleen Fagan. A retired salesman, he ws employed for 26 yers with Anderson Book Store and later with Lehman Hardware.
Mr. Fagan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus with 53 years and a life member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was the first comander of Newton VFW Post 971.
An Army veteran of World War I, he entered service with Co. "K" and received the Purple Heart and Silver Star for combat duty.
In addition to his widow, Helen M. (Seinbacher) survivors include an adopted daughter Mrs. Charles (Beverly) Saladee of Anaheim, California; two brothers, George J. of San Francisco, Calif., and Frank J. of Bakersfield, Calif., and two grandchildren.
One brother and a sister also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday Oct. 12, 1965 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church with Military graveside services at St. Mary's Cemetery, Newton, Kansas
