Janzen, Raymond

Raymond L. Janzen, 61, died Dec. 11, 2001, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. He was born Sept. 5, 1940, at Goessel, the son of Art and Malinda Pauline Schmidt Janzen. He had been a tool-grinder attendant and taxi driver in Adrian, Mich., and was a clerk at Sav-A-Trip, Hesston, since 1986. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a life member of the North American Hunting Club and the American Legion. Survivors include: his parents, both of Hesston; a son, David Janzen, Seattle; four daughters, Cindy Vasher, Niangna, Mo., Toni Janzen, Corpus Christi, Texas, Cari Janzen, San Antonio, and Robin Danglade, Michigan; a brother, Jim Janzen, Hesston; a sister, Judy Hess, Greeley, Colo.; and 11 grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hesston City Cemetery, with Chaplains Bev Baumgartner and Frank Keller presiding. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton. Memorials may be sent to Generations Hand In Hand at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, or to Central Homecare & Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
