Obituary

Harvey Jantz, 86, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (Oct. 17, 2010) at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1924, at home in McPherson County to Isaac and Carrie Koehn Jantz. Harvey worked at Hesston Corp. for 31 years. He retired in 1987. On Oct. 20, 1950, he married Alice Klassen at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel.

Survivors include his beloved wife Alice; his children, Mark Jantz and his wife Sheree of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Carol Berkholz of Goessel, Phil Jantz and wife Cindy of Elkhart, Ind., and Mary Jantz of Hesston; grandchildren, Jamie (Jantz) Blowers and husband Andy, Courtney Berkholz and fiancé Zach Frey, and Johnathan Berkholz; great-grandsons, Conner and Braiden Blowers; sisters, Sadie Decker of Peabody and Elda Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Miller-Ott Funeral Home in Goessel. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel with pastors Linda Ewert and Steve Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Alexanderwohl Cemetery.
