Obituary

Robert D. “Rob” Krehbiel, 93, died Friday (Oct. 15, 2010) at Hester Care Center (Wesley) Towers in Hutchinson.

Rob was born on June 6, 1917, in Halstead, to Lucas Peter and Zelta Euginia (Burrows) Krehbiel. He moved to Hutchinson with his family in 1954 and worked for Cessna for 34 years as manager of product engineering, retiring in 1987 at age 70.

Rob was a charter member since 1955 of the former Northminster Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson. He loved to sing and was a member of the Hutchinson Salt Minors Barbershop Chorus for more than 35 years.

On April 4, 1944, Rob married Yvonne (Bonnie) Boseck in Yakima, Wash.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Hutchinson; son, Tom (Diane) Krehbiel of Tempe, Ariz.; daughters, Kathy (Charles) Moll of Hutchinson, Susan (Larry) William of Topeka and Marti (Jay) Bogart of Spring Hill; a nephew, Pat (Terri) Donahue of Lawrence; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Donahue.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 700 E. 25th Ave. in Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place. A private inurnment will be in Halstead Cemetery in Halstead. Memorials may be given to New Covenant Presbyterian Church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
