Obituary

Winifred H. “Winnie” Lutes, 87, passed away on Saturday (Oct. 16, 2010) at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.

She was born on Nov. 25, 1922, in Scotts County, Ind., the daughter of Willard and Viola (Beswick) Hays. On July 19, 1942, she married James “Jim” Lutes in Franklin, Ind. In 1963, they relocated to Whitewater.

She is survived by a daughter, Bette and husband Mark Konecny of Wichita; grandson, Jimmy and wife Mindi Ellis of Whitewater; and five great-grandchildren, Kalika, Jadden and Asher Ellis, and Jason and Bret Bookless. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barby J. Lutes in 1974, and her brother Joe Hays.

Visitation with family will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Federated Church in Whitewater. Memorial funds have been established for Federated Church or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater.
