Mary Ellen (Entz) LaGree

Mary Ellen LaGree, 62, went to be with the Lord on Friday (Oct. 15, 2010).

She was born on Nov. 14, 1947, in Newton to Daniel and Marie Entz. She worked for Newton Medical Center for 29 years before retiring on Nov. 13, 2009. Mary Ellen regularly attended Grace Community Church and was devoted to Compassion International and Samaritan’s Purse.

Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Gary, whom she married on May 1, 1993. She is survived by sons, Michael of Wichita and Timothy (Hannah) of Irving, Texas; daughter, Melissa (Marlin) Koslowsky of Newton, a stepson, Ryan LaGree of Wichita; stepdaughter, Annie (Robert) Ahlgrim of Newton; grandchildren, Maggie and Jacob Koslowsky, Aiden and Gabriel Goering, Eli and Nathan Ahlgrim; brothers, Marvin (Tania), Loren and John (Judy); and Jim and Sonia Goering. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today (October 18) at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday (October 19) at Grace Community Church, 1600 S. Anderson in Newton. A graveside service will follow.
