Obituary

When Mr. Wilson was 18 years of age he accompanied his father's family to Louisa county, Iowa, and in 1862 he was united in marriage to Cornelia E. Trask and they resided on their farm near Toolsborough, Louisa county, Iowa. In 1878 Mr. Wilson and family moved to Harvey county, Kansas, and resided on the Kramer place, then on the Staub place, from there they moved to the Jim George farm near McLain and from there to their present place of residence near Annelly. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, six of them whom are still living. Mrs. Callie Gates of McLain, Mrs. Frank Kirlin of Missouri, Hugh of Louisiana and Annie, Courtney and Guy (all single) who are at home with their widowed mother to bless and comfort her in her declining years. Mr. Wilson was well known over a good portion of this county and when his esteemed family removed from this (Emma) township it was with regret that the neighbors and friends bade them good bye.

Uncle Roseberry as he was familiarly known in this vicinity was kind to his neighbors, especially in sickness and the affection he bore for his family knew no bounds. The writer hereof has had some very happy visits at the Wilson home and recollections of those good times will go to make up some of the bright spots in his life. Mr. Wilson's last illness was of short duration and when the fatal moment was drawing near he called for his wife to bring him a drink of water and bathe his forehead. Then he looked up and said " I will meet you all on judgment day" then he sank peacefully away-dying as he had lived in the belief of the universal salvation of all mankind.
