Lawrence R. “Larry” Canann, 51, died Saturday (Oct. 30, 2010) at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
He was born on March 21, 1959, in Warren, Ohio, to Joseph and Joanne (Lawrence) Canann Sr. On June 23, 1988, he married Alice Fowler in Tulsa, Okla., and she survives of the home. He was a former machinist for Agco in Hesston. Larry was a sports enthusiast, especially following his beloved Cleveland Browns football team. He was a Boy Scout, enjoyed collecting Pepsi memorabilia, enjoyed road trips and all kinds of gambling. Larry was outgoing and enjoyed making and spending time with his friends and especially loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Canann of the home; mother, Joanne of Warren; son, Matthew Coleman of Newton; daughter, Amber Harris of Tulsa; brothers, Joseph Jr. of Niles, Ohio, Richard of Grandbury, Texas, John of Warren and Donald of Tulsa; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Charles “Chuck” Canann.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today (Nov. 1), with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 2) at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials may be left with the Larry Canann Memorial Fund in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
