Marilyn R. Hall, 75, died Thursday (Nov. 4, 2010) surrounded by her loving family at her rural Potwin residence.
She was born on Nov. 12, 1934, in El Dorado to Earl Loyal and Thelma Louise (Frost) Bidwell. On Sept. 28, 1952, she married James V. Hall in Whitewater, and he survives of the home. Marilyn was a member of Federated Church in Whitewater. She was co-owner of Our Place restaurant in Whitewater, cook and secretary of the Circle āEā (Haw Ranch) Feedlot and a bus driver for the USD 206 for almost 35 years. Marilyn was active in her community and was a volunteer for various organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, David and Deb Hall of El Dorado, Steve and Barbara Hall of Murphy, N.C., and Bruce and Jane Hall of Plano, Texas; daughter, Melanie and Tim Graber of Newton; sisters, Helen and Steve Hensiek and Betty and Dean Wright, both of Newton; grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Hall, Justin Hall, Tyson (Penny) Hall Nielsen, Tylen (Ashley) and Michael Hall, Christopher Hall, and Catherine, TJ, and Erin Graber; great-grandchildren, Paxton and Harper Hall, Kinley and Kardyn Nielsen and Delken and Ashlen Hall; and her special friend and caregiver Anita Warren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Federated Church in Whitewater with Pastor Steve Bowman presiding. Memorials may be left with Hospice Care of Kansas or Federated Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
