Obituary

Stanley L. Widman, 84, formerly of Hiawatha, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 6, 2010) at his Newton home. He was born on March 16, 1926, in Powhattan. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and retired from Goodyear Tire in Topeka in 1996. Stanley is survived by his wife, Carol of the home; two brothers, Larry, of Price, Utah, and Keith of Hiawatha; three children, Duane of Topeka, Darwin of Overland Park, and Janice Smith of Hiawatha; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two step-sons, Michael and Mark Loggan. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melvin; and two sons, David and Galen. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S. Seventh St. in Hiawatha.
