Rutschman, Emma



Emma E. Rutschman, 98, homemaker, died Thursday (April 2, 1998) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born March 3, 1900, in Harvey County to John Neufeld Sr. and Katherine E. Ewy Neufeld. She married Harry Rutschman Aug. 3, 1926, in Elbing. He preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1985. She was a member of the Garden Mennonite Church in rural Hesston. Survivors include: two sons, Orville Rutschman of Hesston and Wayne Rutschman of Knob Noster, Mo.; one daughter, Marjorie Rutschman of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, John Neufeld, Albert Neufeld, Ferd Neufeld and Raymond Neufeld; and two sisters, Lizzie Lohrenz and Bertha Neufeld. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Garden Mennonite Church in rural Hesston with Pastors David Norris and Rich Duerksen officiating. Burial will be in the Garden Church Cemetery in rural Hesston. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Harder-Kaufman Funeral Home in Moundridge. Memorials have been established with the Garden Church Ladies Mission Society in care of the funeral home.
