Obituary

Malinda Friesen, 86, homemaker, died Tuesday (Aug. 24, 1993) at Presbyterian Manor.

She was born Nov. 4, 1906, in Pawnee Rock to John J. and Katie Schmidt Base. She moved to Newton from Pawnee Rock in 1978.

On Aug. 15, 1926 she married John K. Friesen in Pawnee Rock. He survives.

She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church in Newton. Other survivors include a son, Homer of Elbing; a daughter, Elinor Hall of Newton; a brother, William Base of Pawnee Rock; a sister, Susie Wright of Battle Creek, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Meridian Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerroll Martens officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
