Epp, Eva
Eva Dorothea Epp Unruh, 94, retired patient representative for the dietary department of Hutchinson Hospital, died Saturday (Dec. 13, 2003) at Prairie Sunset Home in Pretty Prairie.
She was born March 16, 1909, to Gerhard George and Anna (Frey) Pankratz in Marion County. They preceded her in death. She married Cornelius (Nace) Epp Nov. 29, 1931, in Burrton. He preceded her in death April 27, 1973. She married Fred B. Unruh May 12, 1985, in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death Dec. 26, 1997.
She was a member of Burrton Mennonite Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Carl Epp of Mount Vernon, Wash., Leon Epp of Independence and Gary Epp of Bothell, Wash.; two daughters, Greta Snell of Kingman and Suzan Klassen of Shawnee; three stepsons, Melvin Unruh, Homer Unruh and Chester Unruh, all of Burrton; two stepdaughters, Deloris Gray and Mildred Vincent, both of Burrton; two brothers, Gus Pankratz of North Newton and Peter Pankratz of Wichita; a sister, Mary Ann Blosser of North Newton; 12 grandchildren; 23 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 41 step-great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by: a son, James Epp; a brother, Theodore Pankratz; two sisters, Amanda Schrag and Linda Pankratz; and a stepson, Donald Unruh.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Burrton Mennonite Church with the Rev. James Gundy officiating.
Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with Burrton Mennonite Church, Prairie Sunset Home and Hospice of Reno County, all in care of the funeral home, 418 Chestnut Street, Halstead, KS 67056.
