Obituary

Pete D. Holzrichter, 93, road maintenance worker for the Kansas Department of Transportation and farmer, died Tuesday (Oct. 5, 2004) in Burrton. He was born Feb. 1, 1911, to Peter F. and Mary Anna (Dick) Holzrichter in Burrton. They preceded him in death. He married Thelma Jean Sabin Jan. 1, 1941, in Burrton. She survives of Burrton. He was a member of First Christian Church in Burrton where he served as a deacon. Other survivors include: a daughter, Nelle Lay of Burrton; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by: two brothers, Abe and Henry Holzrichter; three sisters, Katherine Churchman and two infant sisters. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Burrton with the Rev. Sherman Sack officiating. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery. Memorials have been established with First Christian Church in Burrton and Hospice Care of Kansas, both in care of the funeral home, 418 Chestnut Street, Halstead, KS 67056.
