Vidacs, Patrick Ray

The Newton Kansan

Patrick Ray Vidacs, 40, of Newton, died Tuesday (Nov. 9, 2010) at the home of his mother in Newton.

He was born on Feb. 4, 1970, in Newton. He attended schools in Newton, graduating in 1989. The last several years he had been a CNC machinist for Product Manufacturing Corp. in Wichita. Patrick received his third degree in the Knights of Columbus recently. For several years, he had been involved in tae kwon do through Ultimate Martial Arts in Newton, with a first-degree black belt and winning a state championship.

Survivors include his children, Alex Vidacs and April Vidacs, both of Newton; his former wife, Elisa Dee Buller of Newton; his father, Robert Vidacs of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; his mother, Lucy Hernandez-Palacioz Vidacs of Newton; one sister, Andrea Dekat Buckholtz of Topeka; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ramond and Barbara Hernandez and Karl and Josephine Vidacs.

The casket will be open for viewing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton. The Mass of Christian burial to be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for his children’s educational fund at St. Mary’s Catholic School. Contributions may be sent Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
