Oliver, Charles

The Evening Kansan-Republican

The angel of Death came early this morning and took away the immortal spirit of little Charles Gordon Oliver, the two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Oliver.

The little fellow had been sick for nearly two weeks. It was thought at first by the family physician that he was not alarmingly so, but a convulsion caused the frightened parents to hurry him to Bethel hospital where physicians and nurses have striven to save his life which was so precious. It was determined after careful tests that the little fellow was suffering with either an abscess or tumor on the brain and that the fight was a losing one.

Little Charles was sweet and insome and dearly beloved by the family circle with which he was especially blessed. Besides his parents and their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fidler and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Oliver, his great grandmother, Mrs. Hulda Anderson, is here to bestow her great mother love upon him and he was like an own child to his great aunt, Mrs. Charles Mack, and to Mr. Mack, whose namesake he was. His mother's brother, Alden, and his father's brothers and sisters all united in their love and care of the little man. Mrs. Will Snyder and George Anderson were also among those he had come to know. Although just a baby, he was a true little patriot and never failed to salute the flag.

The separation will be hard, but each and every one is comforted in the realization that the pure little soul is with the Good Shepherd who carries the lambs in His bosom.

The funeral service will be held at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fidler, 210 West Eighth Street, Sunday afternoon at 3:30. Rev. Rufin of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church will conduct the service. Friends may see Little Charles at the home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
