Rexroad, William

Evening Kansan-Republican

William A. Rexroad passed away at his home on Christmas morning, following a brief illness of heart trouble. He had an attack Tuesday after he had shoveled the snow from the walks about his home, but had apparently recovered and was feeling about as well as usual yesterday morning when the family arose on the bright Christmas day. Quite suddenly he suffered an attack and laid down on a couch, and in a few minutes passed away. He was in his 71st year. He leaves his wife, two daughters Ollie and Ada, both of the home, and a sister Mrs. Kate Walker, of Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. and Mrs. Rexroad came to Harvey County from Illinois in 1876, settling on a farm four miles north of Walton, where they lived until 1901 when they came to Newton. They bought the home at 201 East Tenth street, where Mr. Rexroad passed away.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Presbyterian Church by Rev. A. H. Morrison, Pastor, Saturday afternoon at 3:30.

Mr. Rexroad was a quiet, courteous gentleman, inducstrious, and held in the highest esteem by all who enjoyed his acquaintance.
