Pierce, Polly
Evening Kansan-Republican
Mrs. George Pierce, formerly Miss Polly Bold, was born in Ince, Greenslane, Lancashire, England in 1887 and came to Frontenac Kansas with her mother and two brothers in 1889, the father having gone there about two years previous. After her marriage to George G. Pierce they came to Newton and resided upon the farm five miles west of town, which has since been their home.
In her death a husband and four children are bereaved, as also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bold, well known in the Pittsburg district; and two brothers, William Bold of Frontenac, Herbert of Detroit Michigan, four sisters, Blanche and Mabel Bold of Frontenac; Mrs. W. C. Berg and Mrs. Cecil Hunley of Kansas City, Missouri.
Mrs. Pierce will be greatly missed by her many friends and neighbors in the community where she has resided. She was an ideal mother, being a splendid home maker, but she always found time to be of assistance to her neighbors in time of sorrow or sickness and her many acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
