Obituary

Gary L. Weir, 58, of Cheyenne, died Oct. 19 at United Medical Center-West.

He was born Oct. 11, 1945, in Wichita, Kan., and had lived here since 1978 with prior residence in Denver.

Mr. Weir was an auto dealer and president of Cowboy Dodge since 1978. He was a member and past president of the Wyoming Auto Dealers and past board member for Safehouse, National Auto Dealers Association and DEAC. He was the 2002 Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award Recipient for Wyoming.

He had participated in The Toy Run since 1980 and the Stride Ride since its beginning. He enjoyed going to the Frankfurt, Germany, car show every year, and traveling around the world with his family.

Mr. Weir is survived by his wife, Patricia G. Weir of Cheyenne, whom he married March 22, 1975; a son, Paul S. Weir of Cheyenne; a daughter, Colleen M. Weir of Cheyenne; and a cousin, Sven Weir. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ethel Weir; and a son, S. Grant Weir.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. today at Cheyenne Hills Church with Chaplain Pat Bradley officiating. Pallbearers will be Harold Hill, Rick Keefe, Shane Cauley, Rich Navarro, Gary Gardner and Paul Fortier. Cremation will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be sent to the Animal Shelter or the COMEA shelter. Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
