Sudden Death of Albert Fife
Newton relatives received word Saturday night of the death of Albert E. Fife which took place on his farm near Berthoud, Colo. The young man was struck by lightning and instantly killed, but the relatives here have not been informed as to the details of the accident. The body is being brought to Newton and the funeral services will be held in the Methodist Church tomorrow afternoon at half past two o’clock. Rev. S. E. Pendleton will officiate.

The deceased was living on his farm a mile and three quarters from Berthoud when the accident happened. With him were his sister, Mrs. Ben Kaufman and her husband, both of whom are well known here. Mr. and Mrs. Kaufman and the mother are accompanying the body to Newton. Mrs. Fife was living at Eagle at the time of the accident but was summoned by wire to Berthoud.

Albert Fife was born thirty one years ago next January. Most of his life was spent on the home place five miles south of town on Kansas avenue. He attended the high school in Newton for two years and at that time formed many friendships among Newton young people who will be shocked and grieved by the news of his sudden death. He moved to Colorado about seven years ago and three years ago bought the farm upon which he was living at the time of his death.

By industry and good management he was doing well when the sad accident happened which brought his career to an untimely end. The young people who knew Albert Fife most intimately will have nothing but the kindest memories of his life. He was uniformly cordial and generous in his intercourse with others and his friends were deeply attached to him. His habits were unquestionable and his character above reproach.
