Obituary

Agnes J. Terry, 78, died Wednesday (Dec. 1, 2010) at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 29, 1932, in Newton, to Norvie and Eva (Eberly) McClure. On June 30, 1949, she married Wally Terry, and he preceded her in death. Agnes was a homemaker and loving mother. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. Family was important to Agnes, and she enjoyed spending time with her loving family and friends.

She is survived by daughters Rita and David Jamison of Moundridge, Linda and Alan Seeney of Brainard, Debbie Terry of Hesston, Carolyn and Leland Stiver of Newton and Chantay and Andrew Stanley of Moyock, N.C. She also is survived by a brother, Gerald McClure; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Gladine Smith; and three brothers, Lee McClure, Robert McClure and Kenneth McClure.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday and 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of God at Broadway and Fairview in Newton, with Chaplain Andrew Stanley presiding. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
