Robert A. Drotts, 71, died at his home on Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2010).

He was born on Aug. 17, 1939, in Topeka. A graduate of Hayden High School, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Perkins. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 24 years as a journeyman electrician in Newton and as a diesel electrician while in Topeka.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and nephew, as well as a master gardener, photographer and horseman. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; daughters, Deborah Drotts and Barbara Ross; aunt, Rosalie Sacks; and two grandchildren.

Private family services will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ted Ensley Gardens at Lake Shawnee, 3137 S.E. 29th St., Topeka, KS 66605.
