Obituary

Katherine Gaeddert, 94, homemaker, died Wednesday (Jan. 13, 1999) at Hutchinson Hospital. She is the mother of Marna Burckhart and Lois Leinbach, both of Hesston.


She was born March 29, 1904, in Reno County to Abraham and Elizabeth (Regier) Siemens. She married Frank F. Gaeddert Nov. 24, 1928, in Buhler. He preceded her in death May 11, 1995.

She was a lifetime Buhler resident. She was a member of Hebron Mennonite Church in Buhler.

Survivors include: three sons, Frank W. Gaeddert of Denver and Leon R. Gaeddert and John W. Gaeddert, both of Buhler; another daughter, Jane Wiens of Inman; one brother, Alvin Siemens of Inman; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Sara Swartzendruber; three sisters and five brothers.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday ((Jan. 16, 1999) at Hebron Cemetery in Buhler with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. at Hebron Mennonite Church with Pastor Wayne Hochstetler officiating. Family will greet friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hebron Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall. Memorials have been established with Hebron Mennonite Church in care of Buhler Mortuary.
