Obituary

Viola B. Jantz, 88, retired nurse aide, died on Friday (Dec. 24, 2010) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation in Halstead.

She was born on Feb. 11, 2010, in Verdon, Okla., to Joseph and Lizzie (Koehn) Base. A Halstead resident since 1984, she was a former resident of Chickasha, Okla. She was a member of Grace Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church in Halstead.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Jerald) Koehn of Halstead; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sons, Leroy, Richard and Stanley Base; brother, Orville Base; and a sister, Melinda Kinblade.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Grace Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church in Halstead. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church in Halstead.
Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Plainview Church Cemetery in Chickasha, Okla. Memorials may be given to Halstead Health and Rehabilitation or Gospel Tract and Bible Society, both in care of Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
