Mohrbacher, James

The Newton Kansan

James R. Mohrbacher, 79, died Monday morning (Dec. 27, 2010) at his residence in Newton.

He was born to George (Sr.) and Viola (Faulkner) Mohrbacher on Jan. 7, 1931, in Wichita. He married Faye Means on June 8, 1952, in Wichita. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last June. She survives in the home. James retired from K.G. & E. after serving more than 35 years as an electrical engineer and line supervisor. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge and the Midian Temple Shrine. His primary interests in life were God, family and K.G. & E.

He also is survived by his two sons, David Mohrbacher of Laramie, Wyo., and Donald Mohrbacher of Valley Center, Calif.; and two daughters, Diana Mohrbacher Daigle of Andover and Donna Mohrbacher of Pensacola, Fla. He had eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola (Faulkner) Mohrbacher; brother, George Mohrbacher Jr.; and sister, Anna Lou Mohrbacher Wheeler.

A private family memorial service will be in the spring or early summer. A memorial has been set up for Trinity Heights Methodist Church, in care of Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
