Marjorie Arlene (Hackenberg) Doty

Marjorie Arlene Doty, 88, of Hesston passed away Tuesday (Jan. 5, 2010) at Schowalter Villa nursing home in Hesston.

She was born on July 18,1921, in Hesston, the daughter of Roy C. And Rosa Landes Hackenberg. She married Cecil Doty on Dec. 22, 1945, in Wichita. She was a lifetime resident of Hesston. She graduated from Hesston Academy. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hesston. During World War II, she worked for Boeing in Wichita. After her marriage, she worked for four years for the ASC office and she did volunteer work for the VA hospital in Wichita. She enjoyed cooking many meals for friends and family. She also had a beautiful garden and flowers.

She is survived by her husband of Hesston; a sister, Waneta Schrag of Newton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Mae Heim and Glenda Allen; and a brother, Roy L. Hackenberg.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday (Jan. 8, 2010)at Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston. The family will be present. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Schowalter Villa Chapel with Pastor C.T. Spear presiding.
